"This was Spot's very first competition. And to be honest, he did absolutely great. The big chestnut stallion had always been a pleasure to ride - he was work willing, concentrated and very eager to learn new things. The only thing you needed to make him that pleasure to ride: an experienced rider which knew what he was doing. And Lucas was that kind of rider. He had spend years and years working with horses, making them compete, getting newborn foals into the world - it just smoothly went to be his lifestyle and now he couldn't think of anything else.
Spot was one of the first horses he got under his guard at his new working place. He only had to ride him a few times to get known of the stallion's habits and way of thinking and working. Lucas' relaxed way of thinking went perfectly well with the stallion's character. And that perfect combination showed off every time they worked together.
Lucas had decided to sign himself and Spot up for one of the few Trekking classes in one of the upcoming competitions. It was a test for them both, to build trust and friendship, partnership. Lucas had thought of it and decided to let the first jumping competition wait.

And his choice was perfect - Spot seemed to love their long ride outside in the unknown nature. He trusted Lucas fully and listened to him very well, since Lucas seemed to have much more experience on all this things than he did. They just went through the water - Spot enjoying it from tip to toe, being all noisy and loud, throwing his head up and down, his ears pinned forwards. This was the hardest part of the whole ride - the rocky road along the water. Lucas had expected problems, since the stallion was becoming famous around the stable for his adoration for water, but since they just had made their way through it, the stallion seem to understand this was not a game - this was a competition and the stallion had set his changes up on winning this challenge. And so did Lucas. Not for the prices or the fame, but for the feeling it gave the combination of the two, of the trust and friendship, the partnership they gained with it, because that was the most import part, if you'd ask Lucas.
